7th Kuching BB Company

The Boys’ Brigade (BB) 7th Kuching Company was started first in July 2004 with the attendance of 10 boys in first class meeting. Soon after several months, 7th Kuching was officially registered under The Boys Brigade in Malaysia as 7th Kuching Company with the sponsoring of Chin Daw Methodist Church, Kuching.

The founders of the company was Mr. Hii King Ong. Starting a BB company in Chin Daw Methodist church was on the calendar of Christian Education Commiittee of the church. As Mr.Hii was the Chairperson of the Christian Education Commiittee, he took up the challenge to form the company in July 2004 with the assist of Mr.Tommy Ting, Mr.Donny Lau and Mr. Lau Shieh Yung.

• 06 March 2005 – Officially 7th Kuching Company was born.
• July 2005 – Company First Enrolment service was held at Chin Daw Methodist church
• Dec 2005 – First Company Camp
• Feb 2006 – SMK Jalan Arang Marching Competition Champion
• June 2006 – 2nd Company camp @ Rambungan Beach
• Top 5 Average in BBM NKF fund collection
• Oct 2006 – Joint Founders day Celebration of southern region
• Dec 2006 – First Award and Parents Night
• Oct 2007 – Ncos Council was formed
• Nov 2007 – 7kuchingbb.com was introduced
• Dec 2007 – Company contigent join Kuching’s Christmas roundtown procession
• Jan2008 – Junior Section Started
• Top in NKF fund Company average category, 2nd placing in Company total and 2nd placing in Officer category
• June 2008 – 18 boys + 2 Officers joined Pesta 2008 at Kota Kinabalu. Participated in Pesta Drill Competition.
• Aug 2008 – Parcitipated in Southern-region Miaw game – Basketball competition Champion in Miaw Game.
• Oct 2008 – Southern – region Joint Founder’s day celebration at Faith Methodist Church
• Nov2008- 3rd Company camp @ 24th mile Kuching
• Mar 2009 – 7th kuching BB Band started. A Bugle Band formations with bugles and drums.
• May 2009 – First Basic Drill camp was conducted at SMK Jln Arang
• July2009- First Ever Fancy Drill Display at SMK Jln Arang
• Aug 2009 – 5th Enrolment Service + Safety award exhibition at Chin Daw Methodist Church
• Jan 2010 – First ever band performance during recruitment day at SMK Jalan Arang
• June 2010 – 20 boys + 5 officers participated in the Boys Brigade 19th Pesta held in Penang. Got 5th place in the national dancing competition out of 11teams.
• Aug 2010 – 6th Enrolment Service + band and dance performances
• Dec 2010 – Company camp held at 24th mile oil palm estate jungle

With prayer and hard work of the officers, 7th Kuching company were grow up to 30++ boys as in 2007 statistic. As in year 2009, we grow up to 70++ Boys (Juniors + Senior Sections) May God continuously bless our Boys Brigade in this youth ministry. Amen.

Company continue to grow in strength, it’s about 70++ membership in year 2009 (Junior + Senior Sections)
